S Nason Electrical respects your privacy and is committed to handling personal information responsibly and securely.
This privacy policy explains what information I may collect, why I collect it, how it may be used and shared, and your rights in relation to your personal information.
About S Nason Electrical
S Nason Electrical is a trading/project name used by Sam Nason for electrical, Velbus and building control-related work, projects and enquiries.
I am also undertaking an apprenticeship within the fire and security industry. My apprenticeship and employment are separate from S Nason Electrical unless otherwise stated.
I also maintain contact with an established electrical firm I have previously worked alongside and may occasionally assist with, undertake or refer work through them where appropriate.
Information I may collect
When you contact me or I undertake work for you, I may collect information including:
Your name
Telephone number
Email address
Property or job address
Details about your enquiry or the work required
Messages and correspondence
Quotations, invoices and payment records
Technical, testing, commissioning or certification information relating to work undertaken
Photographs or videos relating to the work
Other information you choose to provide when contacting me
I only aim to collect information that is reasonably required for the relevant enquiry, work or other stated purpose.
How I collect your information
Information will normally be provided directly by you when you contact me or during the course of discussing or carrying out work.
You may contact me through methods including email, telephone, SMS, WhatsApp, Instagram and LinkedIn.
Information may also be generated as part of electrical, Velbus or building control work, such as quotations, invoices, designs, configuration or commissioning information, test results, photographs and job records.
How I use your information
I may use personal information to:
Respond to enquiries
Discuss, arrange and carry out electrical, Velbus or building control-related work
Prepare quotations and invoices
Maintain appropriate records of work undertaken
Carry out testing, inspection and certification where applicable
Communicate with you before, during and after work
Coordinate or refer work to other contractors or an electrical firm I maintain contact with, where appropriate
Manage Velbus-related enquiries and projects
Maintain appropriate evidence of my practical work and training
Meet legal, regulatory, financial or record-keeping requirements
I do not currently use customer information for email marketing, mailing lists or unsolicited promotional messages.
Lawful basis for using your information
Depending on the circumstances, personal information may be processed because it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into an agreement, to carry out agreed work, to comply with a legal obligation, or because there is a legitimate reason for retaining or using certain information.
Where I rely specifically on your consent, such as for certain sharing or promotional uses, you may withdraw that consent.
Sharing your information
Your personal information is not sold to third parties.
Where appropriate, I may involve or refer work to an established electrical firm I have previously worked alongside, or another relevant contractor.
Where this requires personal information to be shared, I will only share information reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose and, where required, discuss this with you beforehand.
Information may also be shared with relevant third parties such as suppliers, service providers, MDAR/Velbus, installers or other people or organisations involved with a particular enquiry or project where this is necessary and appropriate.
Information may also be disclosed where required by law or where reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal rights.
Photographs and videos
Photographs or videos may sometimes be taken to document work, record its condition, maintain project records or demonstrate completed work.
Where photographs or videos are intended to be published publicly, for example on the S Nason Electrical website, Instagram, LinkedIn or other promotional material, appropriate permission will be obtained where the content identifies or could reasonably identify a client, individual or private property.
Where possible, unnecessary personal or identifying information will not be included in photographs or videos.
How information is stored
Depending on the type of information, records may be stored using services and devices including:
Google Drive and other Google services
Microsoft OneDrive
Apple iCloud
IONOS
Devices and accounts used for S Nason Electrical
I take reasonable steps to protect personal information and restrict access to it.
Some of these services are provided by third-party technology companies and information may therefore be processed using their systems and infrastructure.
How long I keep information
Personal information is not intended to be kept for longer than reasonably necessary.
Routine enquiry and job information may be deleted after the work has been completed and payment has been received where there is no continuing reason to retain it.
Certain information may need to be retained for longer where necessary for legal, financial, certification, insurance, training, evidential or record-keeping purposes.
Photographs or other evidence required as part of my NVQ or training may be retained for as long as reasonably required for that purpose.
I periodically review information I hold and delete information that is no longer reasonably required.
Working with other contractors
I maintain contact with an established electrical firm I have previously worked alongside and may occasionally assist with, undertake or refer work through them where appropriate.
Where the electrical firm or another contractor becomes involved in a project, they may collect and process personal information independently for their own purposes.
Where this applies, their own privacy and data protection arrangements may also apply to information they hold.
Velbus & MDAR
I have involvement with MDAR and Velbus as part of my interest and developing experience in digital building control.
If you contact me using my dedicated Velbus email address, your information will be used to respond to and manage your Velbus-related enquiry.
Where it would be appropriate to involve MDAR, Velbus or another relevant person, I will discuss this with you before passing on your contact details or enquiry where consent is required.

Under UK data protection law, you may have rights relating to your personal information, including rights to:
Be informed about how your information is used
Request access to personal information held about you
Ask for inaccurate or incomplete information to be corrected
Ask for your information to be deleted in certain circumstances

These rights do not apply in exactly the same way in every circumstance, and there may be legal reasons why certain information must continue to be retained.
